Hey. It's an old mesh head, this allows me - in combination with the slightly modified sticks to hit a surface which stock aerodrums can't really do. Benefits include the bounce/rebound sensing, so realistic snare rolls & ghosts are much easier. Could also use a mesh for Tom's but tend not to bother.

Hi Peter - I'd recommend clicking through to the reaper forum post link as I posted an updated template there not very long ago - and grab that and just load it up to have a look around to see how things are set up, should help There's a midi control track that you want you midi controller to supply midi msgs to, your controller will need to be set as an input ( not 'control') in reaper's midi preferences. The midi note msgs will need to match supers 8s note value for each slot, n.b right-click drag to adjust those values. Good luck

@@ButeSound Ok I managed to get this workin a bit. I have keyboard response and my guitar is working. Is there a way to make it 8 stereo loop channels or do you have to have left and right channels taking up two slots? It seems to be working tho. I was able to make a loop and record it. I have a fsb1010 pedalboard here I would love to get mapped into the software but thats another story. I found another youtube video describing a plugin that can create midi notes from midi commands inputs. Right now I just need to get the 8 stereo channels and I would be very pleased with this setup. SERIOUSLY trying to NOT have to go to ableton just to do this. What do you think?

also it appears that your looper window has more buttons than mine especially the latch buttons etc... Did you customize this or do I have the old one?

@@petermatos4613 to go mono and have 8 inputs is just a matter of tweaking the channel routing aspect a bit, which I hope will be easier once familiar with this setup, explore routing of each track in the template and settings for the Super8 plug itself.. probably not super intuitive (that's the reaper way...) but it should click after a nose around 👍

Hi, I don't see any reason why you couldn't make diy ones. just best to check the reflectivity matches originals on the software so it plays as it should.

Hey. I think you would assign one of your hardware inputs to different slots of your choice to build layers upto 8 (with one instance ). I used virtual instruments here as an example, v similar with hardware. Also familiarise with kenny g's intro video, but that doesn't show real world use which requires bit of set up hence my template. I have not used it in a while with recent reaper versions but should work!

@@ButeSound I tried I could only use two channels, make two loops 1 and 2. If there is not a way to create virtual channels? But thats alright for now if I only could asign does numbers for my midi pedal. I wonder how I can asign does number to my midi guitar pedal, its not cc numbers. Hey yeh - it's from a 'water noodle' 😏 firmish foam. - with a bit of rubber stuff glued to top just to prevent foam breaking up over time and abuse. Nowadays I also have an up-stroke stop (cable tie going across pedal to stop it coming up very far after a stroke ) to dampen down movement as can sometimes register as a hit in aerodrums. 👍

Attacco Dei Giganti - hi , yes. Provided the camera can see sticks hitting or 'stopping' and can see the foot markers on your feet (or like me on pedals) and you have modified the sticks like I have, you can set the kit to match where your drums are. It may take a bit of effort at first to get it set up correctly but then it should play well. I get on fine with snare only and maybe tom, and 'air' for the rest!
